Standing at the alter
The groom dressed in black
The best men beside him
Smiles on their faces.
The bride was at home
Unsure to make the commitment
Her best friend arrived to speak to her
She finally got convinced.
The crowds were all sitted
The church bloomed
Benches with decorations
And flowers all around.
The priest awaited
He stood at the alter
Ready with his bible
Then the music started.
She entered in White
White and all lace
She now walked up to the alter
Bouquet in hand.
The ceremony began
And it was time to rehearse the speeches
She spoke her vows
She now knew this was it.
It was now the grooms turn
He started his speech
Only to stop in the middle
And tell her he just was not ready.
The groom had left
The crowd was also leaving
It was now starting to sink in
He had left her, standing at the alter.
