Perhaps I was a plaything,
Stupid and forlorn,
You never understood completely,
How cruelly my heart was torn.
We had been together for so long,
But for another, you tossed me aside,
your heart was taken, ripped from me,
You'll never know how hard I'd cried.
The blue of your eyes,
reflected the genuine beauty of the ocean,
They had been filled with love and wonder
But now to me, devoid of true emotion.
Those real eyes I had loved
were something I no longer saw
They were now on another girl,
Sensitive, brilliant, without flaw.
I can tell I'm no longer in that picture,
But to that girl, give all your love,
Make her feel special, cheriched,
And like me, she'll fly free, soaring like a dove.
