And nothing changed
In finished then and there
But nothing changed
Nothing was resolved
We're still here
Functioning around each other
And perpetuating petty grievances
It's just like treading water
Till one day our arms grow tired
Our eyes, red from the sea of tears
We stop treading
We accept the inky blackness that goes forever down.
I wish I could feel
Anything at all
This darkness inside of me is all consuming
And turns the world to grey
It's like my worlds been whitewashed
There is no love
Only the infinite
Without you I cannot be whole
I'm a series of fragments
A broken mirror on the floor
Reflecting glorious assumptions and high ideals
In little bits and pieces
Though only through distortion can we find
That thing on which we wind
Maybe we could stop pretending
That all our lives, our separate universes are slowly, surely ending.
