This is my wish for you

"This is my wish for you: Comfort on difficult days, smiles when sadness intrudes, rainbows to follow the clouds, laughter to kiss your lips, sunsets to warm your heart, hugs when spirits sag, beauty for your eyes to see, friendships to brighten your being, faith so that you can believe, confidence for when you doubt, courage to know yourself, patience to accept the truth, love to complete your life."

Hats off to you!

Sometimes after a long day I want to hang my head.
All I want is to cover up and hide snug in my bed.
Enclosed in my cocoon I'd be safe and warm.
Certainly out of the reach of harm.

Segregation

The color of God is without distinction or clause
Life holds for us a continuum of estranged paradoxes
Work with me, and likewise I will work for you
Show me something that has no choice and I will seek

Man's Best Friend

Sam and I huddle
beneath our cardboard tenement -
Refugees from rain,
Somewhere, farmers look skyward

I love him..
My want to get out of bed
the feeling to know I'm able to get out of bed.

The Lake

There it lies sleeping
The silvery moonlit lake
But life thrives beneath.

The years after

This world seemed so quiet and peaceful, but that all changed when the twin towers in New York went down 5 years ago. Watching it on the news made it feel like it was happening right in your own backyard. As we watched the towers go down across the nation tears started to fall. Growing up we were taught this was the land of the free, but it seeing something so horrible on the news makes us feel like we lost our freedom. Every year the memories come flowing back and there is not a day that goes by that we don't think about that day. The heartache that was brought to America and the families that day will never be forgot. Even though the towers are no longer standing, we will always remember the lives that were lost of the heroes that risked there lives to safe others. We will always keep them in our hearts. This is still the land of the free and the home of the braves.

One World

People look, but do not see,
They see, but do not care,
Every time you look away,
You heighten that despair.

To The Judged

Why is it when we try to be who we are people always tries to put it down.
We are the people who are unique and who are more leaders then followers.
They expect us to act and look like they do.
They treat us as if we are the out cast of the world.

Work.

Work.
That's not good enough.
Work harder.
That just won't suffice.

You represent what you wear,
but don't wear what you represent.
Nothing but makeup and hair.

Feel there's something down there,
hid behind my walls.
Feel scared to open the door

What beautiful annihilation,
Something as small as a feeling,
Bringing such chaos,
Even death seems more peaceful.
