R.I.P is what I see
While sat here lonely as can be
While endless rain pours down on me
Emphasising my misery.
No longer do I see my friend
Who came to such a tragic end
And broken hearts will never mend
To children left my love I send.
My friend who helped me come so far
Met her maker in that car
And within my mind left its scar
A place so empty, black as tar.
An argument, late that night
Made her drive the car, take flight
And take that corner far too tight
Her eyes no longer full of light.
The rain it soaks me to the skin
While thinking of her next of kin
Did my friend commit a sin?
To leave three kids so hollow within.
To take back this horrendous wrong
And go back in time, I long
When we'd put on her favourite song
And drunkenly we'd sing along.
