I always had a reason
fabricate some lie
Sometimes you died in war
others you were a spy

You were always somewhere, saving the world
How I wish that was true
While other dads showed up that day
I sat alone, and cried for you

Theres so many things
a boy needs to know
without you there
it was hard to grow

Learning to shave
OUCH that hurt
catching footballs
or throwing a curve

As hard as it was
it's even harder now
I guess at fatherhood
you never showed me how

When I look in her eye's
I don't see you
I only see victory
and I did it all
with out YOU
