My heart stopped.
The world froze.
And everything began to weep.
Every rock,
Every creature,
Every family.

I knew it before they called.
I knew it when it happened.
I knew it when you screamed my name,
Because then my heart was broken.

They are approaching me now.
Walking very slowly.
They start to talk,
I shake my head.
Please, I know the story.

They left me then,
After a million questions.
A question for each shard of glass,
That used to be my heart.

Why?
I screamed in misery,
After everyday.
Why?
I yelled again and again,
Crying from the start.

Its been a year now,
Since the world froze.
But now its spinning,
The birds are singing,
And wherever I go
I hear the sounds of children laughing.
No older than you were.

I hear them scream,
Sissy! across the playground,
To their sisters.
Who pick them up so gently.
I used to pick you up like that,
Before the world stopped spinning.
