When I think about all you've done,
I have so much hate, so much anger.
But when I re-think, and look at myself.
I can see certain things in me of you.

You were once creative,
Once able to pick up a brush and unravel beautiful paintings.
As I am creative,
I pick up my pen and unravel words in poetry.

You were once smart,
Able to solve the hardest of riddles in life.
As I can be smart,
I can get past anything in life that passes me by.

You were once beautiful,
Able to show your beauty for all to see.
As people say I can be, but I doubt it.
I doubt it because of you.

You were once stubborn,
You never listened to what people would say.
As I can be stubborn,
I catch that from you.

You were once angry,
Angry at all the people who wronged you,
As I can be angry,
I'm angry at you.

I may not be you, I never will be I can't let that happen.
But when I look at myself I can see you.
I have most of the good things about you,
And some of the bad.
But I can't change that.
You are still my mother and I have certain things of you.
I hate the fact of everything in me that is you.
But without it, poetry wouldn't be my passion
