In this darkened life of mine
A darkened alley of broken dreams
A shadowed pathway of lost allies
A collection of never finished seams
My life rots away with little respect
Make-up a mess, tear stained cheeks
Hidden in darkness a runaway soul
Ghostly appearance, life broken, bleak
Dark shadows of despair behind my eyes
Frailed figure once beautiful, is now gone
Alienated reflection in my teardrop puddles
I am a failure, forgotten and withdrawn
Couldn't jump the hurdles that life threw
Fell over them clumsily, again and again
Lost my beauty, my friends, my family
Lost confidence and it can't be regained
Lost my life when I stabbed it into my arm
The poison that seeped through, felt good
But did not last, and it made you laugh
Laughing face hidden beneath your hood
I stare into your shallow eyes, just stare
Turned dark and cold with so much use
The poison that now runs through my veins
Is the same poison that you always abuse
The escape that it was meant to give me
You laugh at my pain as the poison burns
And wastes away in seconds of the initial jab
And then my body craves more, yearns
You stab my arm with another dosage
The pain I first felt, now subsided to lust
You smile as you give me more and more
The world disappears, as does my distrust
Reality has now completely disappeared
I am floating on a bed of clouds, up high
My head is spinning, but I feel great now
I don't feel like a failure no more, I can fly
Your face is just a figment of my imagination
My body is a numb, beautiful creature
The world is an amazing place, no dark alley
The detail is flawless, such a perfect feature
You stand there staring at my lifeless figure
A smile spreads across your tortured face
You've accomplished what you set out to do
No remorse, no regret, not a single trace...
