She closes her door at night
To block out all the pain
She holds back the tears
And releases them in the rain
She walks to school alone
Hiding bruises and scars
The other children don't know
Of her life behind bars
She tries to laugh and smile
So no one knows the truth
She's too scared to talk
She doesn't know what mummy will do
She still stands strong though
Through all the storms
Her pain hurts her
In many shape and forms
She's scared to go home
She already knows her fate
When everyone else knows
It'll be too late
Teachers will shake their heads
So they had no idea
The children who loved her most
Will shed young tearing tears
But no one can bring her back
And justice can never truly be made
If someone had taken some notice
Could she have been saved?
